Anatomy is one of my older one’s, Sunshine’s, most favorite subjects. Don’t ask me why – the answer is as mysterious to me. We were studding the skeleton this week, upon completion of our skeleton model he peted the ugly set of bones and fondly declared: “He is so cute! Let’s name him Sunshine, just like me.” I felt a little stupid, but I couldn’t agree with either of those statement. Definitions of cute cast aside, I prefer not to use my family members names for something like this… “All right, Mom, can we name him Smiles, like the baby?” What did I say about the family members’ names?

There has been sort of a break at ChildAndMe. We’ve been busy. No, not just with holidays (that are too much of a distraction as well). I am finally taking more organized approach to our learning – defining categories and trying to approach every subject more thoroughly.

Well, our new approach is this: I finally defined the categories that we are learning.

I am reading quite a few Montessori books at the moment. I am looking through the videos. Nevertheless, I have tons of questions and it still is in a bit of a haze! So I decided to try Karen’s course for parents and teachers.

I do not like TV. We don’t have cable at home, we barely watch any DVDs. I especialy dislike DVDs for babies, like Baby Einsteins, and other similar pseudo-educational ones. Nevertheless, I am curious! Your Baby Can Read DVD by Dr. Titzer – seems to be the most popular among the parents who want to involve multimedia for teaching to read. I know that A.P.P. used it for his son, as well as many members of TeachYourBabyToRead Yahoo group and even of ChildAndMe! So, when my friend’s kids outgrew the video portion of the TeachYourBabyToRead package and she offered me to take over the DVDs, I couldn’t wait to try it out.

Thanks to Isa for sharing this fantastic collection of presentation in English and German! I am still working on many new files, so you should see more terrific works by Isa very soon!

There have been so many questions and discussions regarding crawling, creeping and brachiating, that I thought it deserves a separate article.

In Glenn Doman’s book How To Teach Your Baby To Be Physically Superb, there are few chapters devoted to these activities.

The first one is crawling.   Doman recommends building a special crawling track for the baby, where the little ones can crawl during their sleep and during the day.  Pretty much all day long.
